Crowthorne Art Fair 29th to 30th October 2016

We are exhibiting at the Craft in Focus Art and Craft Fair at Wellington Private School in Crowthorne near Bracknell. Jan is there on her own with lots of pictures and books.

We are in the process of reducing the size of the prints that we take to shows so the prices of the 100 x 50cm and 70 x 50cm prints are reduced considerably. We also have 5 prints, including 3 hand-printed originals, in wide profile frames that we no longer stock and these too are reduced in price. Included in these are several London shots as well as Paris, Berlin, Venice, Rome, New York and a couple of wintry tree-filled landscapes.

We also have several  triptychs of London, Paris and Rome at £95 and a smaller one at £55 of the UK 3 Peaks, if you know anyone who has recently completed this challenge this could make a thoughtful present. Lots of smaller prints from £5 to £20 too. My 3 current books, City Light, Land Light and Snow Light, are also available.

Jan has quite a few of her colour images on display too.

So lots to see on our stand and there are also lots of other exhibitors selling a huge variety of hand made designer products.

The show is very high quality and is run by Craft in Focus, open until 5pm today and from 10am to 4.30pm tomorrow, Sunday 30th October 2016. Here is the web link for more information: www.craftinfocus.com/crowthorne_october_16.html

RHS Wisley Contemporary Art and Craft Christmas Fair - on Now

The Craft in Focus Christmas Contemporary Art Fair at RHS Wisley is on now. Jan has set up our stand and is there on her own to run it. Our stand is just inside the entrance to the fair.

Here's a photo of the stand to give you an idea of what we have on offer, lots of framed and unframed photographs, both my black and white and Jan's colour ones. Around 400 prints in all from 20 x 20cm to 100 x 50cm, £5 to £500. There is even a rarity, a limited edition print from me (that's the £500 print, print 2 from a print run of just 10).

My 2 new books, Land Light and Snow Light, are on offer too. There's copies of City Light and Peak Light too. Details of next years courses are available too, they're on the website too.

Say hi to Jan if you visit! The show opens at 9am every day and runs until Sunday evening.

Wellington College, Crowthorne Art and Craft Fair This Weekend!

We are exhibiting at Wellington College, Crowthorne (near Bracknell) this weekend, as well as today! Jan is running our stand single handed as usual, my back has very painful recently so I couldn't help even if I wanted to. The show is run by Craft in Focus so high quality is guaranteed as they run the highest quality shows that we exhibit at.

There's lots to see of my black and white photographs as well as Jan's colour prints. We both have prints from £5 as well as a few other stock clearance reductions. My 2 new books, Snow Light and Land Light are available at this particular show for the first time too, good prices for these as well and 240 of my best landscape pictures between them.

Here are some pictures that Jan took this morning before the show opened.

Christmas Contemporary Art and Craft Fair at RHS Wisley until Sunday 30th November

We are doing a show at RHS Wisley with Craft in Focus. It's the highest quality show that we do and there are about 150 designer-maker exhibitors from all over the country.

It's on right now until this Sunday (30th November). Entry is free to RHS members and there's lots of car parking at the venue.

Jan is doing this one on her own and it's usually a busy show but that's how she prefers to do it. I just get in the way otherwise!

There's lots of new pictures, including Vienna as well as a few new ones of London, lots of bargains, especially smaller prints from £5.

You can also buy all 4 books for £20. My Lake District book Lake Light is going fast, we now have less than 40 copies from the 1500 print run. Once they are sold there will be no more, it's not being reprinted as I have too many new images still to publish, hence the 2 new landscape books that I'm currently working on.

Here are some photos of our stand at RHS Wisley that Jan took today, a bit more space than last year so things aren't as cramped, it will be easier for you to browse the prints and books.

Art and Contemporary Craft Show This Weekend near Bracknell until Sunday 31st August

We are doing an event this weekend at Wellington College near Bracknell.

That's the Royal 'We', Jan is running our stand on her own!

Over 100 high quality art and contemporary craft exhibitors.

Here is a link to the web page for the show on the organisers website, Craft in Focus.

We have lots of pictures including about 15 large prints at 1m x 0.5m, 3 of these framed and on display. Also, course information and quite a few clearance small prints at £10. Jan has some of her colour photos on the stand too.

Our stand faces you as you enter the show hall, so very easy to find us!

RHS Wisley Christmas Contemporary Craft Fair 27th November to 1st December

We are exhibiting at the Craft in Focus Christmas Contemporary Craft show at RHS Wisley. Jan is doing it on her own to save my bad back which has taken a bit of a beating over the last few weeks. Unfortunately, Jan also hurt her back last week so she has to be careful too.

The show opens at 9am every day and closes at 6pm, except Thursday is 8pm and Sunday is 5pm. Entry is free to RHS members and £9 to everyone else but this includes entry to the gardens as well.

The photos of our stand were taken by Jan on her BlackBerry phone. As you can see it's quite a bit smaller than our last show, Ideal Home Christmas show at Earls Court, in fact it's less than half the size of our stand there! We have still packed a lot in and have several hundred darkroom prints for sale, the last few posters and all 4 books are on offer, with a very special price if you buy all 4.

Craft and Design Show Henley on Thames

It was the first day of the Craft and Design Show at Henley on Thames. Still 2 days to go if you are thinking about coming, our stand is B21. www.craftexperience.co.uk

I remembered to photograph the stand this morning on our little Panasonic Lumix camera.

Now we are in The Bear in Maidenhead, the other Wetherspoons pub in the town. Fish and chips tonight washed down with a pint of Meerkat Mild, so I will be comparing the Meerkat a bit later!

Craft and Design Show at Henley on Thames Friday to Sunday

Jan drove us down to set up our stand at the Craft and Design Show at the Henley Showground near Henley on Thames (just north of Henley on the road to Marlow). Our stand is B21. Jolly nice clear span marquees with no poles in the middle of the tent, they usually put a pole in the middle of your stand and you have to work around it! Solid floor and carpet too, luxury! About 200 exhibitors so lots to see apart from visiting us. The show is run by Craft in Focus, who always make sure the quality is kept high and the show will be really well organised.

I forgot to photograph the stand so will try and remember to do that tomorrow. I now have an SD card reader for my phone and tablet computer so can take pictures on our little Panasonic Linux camera for much better quality than my Samsung Galaxy S2, which has a rubbish camera.

We have dozens of new prints, including 10 prints at 100 x 50 cm, just right for a big space. There are also 8 posters, a good way to buy a big print for a low price. Special price for all books too.

In The Greyhound pub in Maidenhead now. Just round the corner from our Travelodge. It's a Wetherspoons pub so cheap food and beer. Curry night tonight, just waiting for my second pint. Oh, it's just arrived, must dash.

Health and Photo Course

Thursday I had to visit the dentist in Knutsford to have a broken filling replaced. It needed a jab, so no pain at all. Called in at Booth's supermarket before coming home, they have an amazing selection of bottled beers and Jan thought they would help numb the pain. I didn't like to say there wasn't any! Stocked up with Dent T'Owd Tup, one of my favourites, and another 6 different beers.

Today I had acupuncture and massage on my bad back to keep me going for another few weeks. Walked up Eccles Pike this evening, fourth time this week, just 3 miles and 600 feet of ascent, so good exercise for the end of the day. I also walked 12 miles on Wednesday to Buxton and back, for a day in Gallery in the Gardens

Trying to build up the miles ready for finishing the Coast to Coast walk in August with good friend Al. Then in September walking the first part of the Alpine Pass Route, with Jan, Rob, Annie and Phil (we all did part 2 from Grindelwald to Montreux in 2006) from just south of Zurich to Grindelwald in Switzerland.

Just booked a trip to Berlin for next month, lots to photograph there and 3 full days will give us a good chance of covering the most important views. The locations are spread out so I'm sure we'll do lots of walking there too. It will be our first overseas trip this year.

We have quite a few courses to run in the next few weeks as well as 3 shows, the first in Henley starting on Friday, and 2 in Buxton. This used to be a quieter time of year, not any more!

Heard at the start of the month that the Focus on Imaging show has been cancelled. This years was the last one. That's the end of an era. I guess it means we can go skiing later in the winter, rather than always going in January so that I have time to prepare darkroom prints for the stand display in February. We will miss not seeing everyone once a year too. We have made so many friends over the years at this show I think that's what I will miss the most.

Craft and Design Experience, Henley on Thames - Advanced Tickets

We are exhibiting at the Craft and Design Experience near Henley on Thames from 21st to 23rd June, 10am to 5pm each day, stand B21. Both Jan and I will be there, unlike Wisley and Crowthorne later in the year when Jan will be there on her own to save my bad back.

We will have lots of photographs and all 4 of my books at reduced prices.

Click the link below to buy advanced tickets at less than you will pay on the day. There will be around 200 exhibitors, so lots to see, all high quality as the show is organised by Craft in Focus who are pretty strict on who can exhibit with them. Come and say hello if you come along.

Craft in Focus Christmas Contemporary Craft Fair at RHS Wisley

We (well Jan is, I'm at home with my feet up - only joking!) are doing our last show of 2012 at RHS Wisley with Craft in Focus. These are always well run and the marquees this year are the best ever with solid  walls (no flapping leaky canvas!), as well as the usual solid floors and heating. Luxury!

Jan is doing it on her own and sent me some pictures taken on her Blackberry, here is one of our stand. You can see one of the new London panoramics, of Tower Bridge, the Shard, Butlers Wharf and the Thames (taken from Wapping), is on show in a tasteful narrow black frame.

The show is on until Sunday late afternoon. It has been busy so far, Jan has already sold one of the other London panoramics, fortunately she has a spare and a frame so managed to replace it. Lots more though. Free entry to RHS members.

Christmas Contemporary Crafts and Design Fair at RHS Wisley

We are doing a 5 day Contemporary Crafts and Design Fair at RHS Wisley with Craft in Focus.

It started on Thursday 24th and runs until Monday 28th November. It's open 9am to 5pm for the next 3 days. Our stand is near the entrance to the show, stand 10. Jan is doing it on her own this time to save wear and tear on my bad back. It's been a good one so far. Pictures, books and posters are all selling well. It seems to be a busy show for all too, with 130 of the highest quality exhibitors for visitors to get round.

Our stand is a similar size to the one we had in Glasgow except that 2 sides are open. This usually works best for us these days. Lots of pictures, maybe 300-odd, on display. This includes several at 1m x 0.5m. So if you have a large space that needs filling with a picture this may be the place to find something, especially as prices for pictures start at just £5 for some of the 0.5 x 0.5m prints!

Jan looks forward to seeing you there!

Sevenoaks Art & Craft Fair

Last day of the Craft in Focus art & craft fair in Sevenoaks Sunday 23rd October. http://www.craftinfocus.com/sevenoaks_october_11.html

It's been a bit quieter than we hoped. Pretty much all shows this year have been hard work to make sales but most have worked in the end. Will keep fingers crossed this one works out too in the end.

Local bakery is closed tomorrow so no bacon roll for breakfast. Jolly disappointing!

Richmond Craft in Focus Event

We have a stand at the Art and Contemporary Designer Craft Fair run by Craft in Focus at the Queen Charlotte Hall in Richmond on Thames, near London. If you need the sat nav to find it use TW9 2RE. It's open from 10am until 5pm from Friday 7th October (today!), Saturday and Sunday. Jan is running our stand on her own as my back is still a bit painful and I can try and catch up on a few other things at home.

There are a couple of large new prints, 1 metre by 0.5 metre, framed. One is of snow with aspen tree trunks and their shadows, jolly difficult to get to as the snow was deeper than it looked and I didn't bother putting my snowshoes on, big mistake, it was way over my waist. I ended up lying on the surface and crawling into position to take the shot to stop me sinking in as far. The other new large shot is St Paul's Cathedral from the Millennium Footbridge in London at night. I have printed it small before but it looks spectacular at this large size. Both were printed by Ilford Lab Direct from a digital file of the scanned negative as this is larger than I can hand print in my darkroom (I print up to 60 x 50cm).

There are lots of new small prints too from £15 to £270 and some of the posters are reduced to just £10 for this show.

If you can get down there could be a good one. Oh, and nearly forgot, there are another 70 exhibitors there too and lots of parking behind the hall, so no excuses!

Next weekend is the Great Peak District Fair in Buxton Pavilion Gardens. There will be lots there too with over 100 exhibitors. Our stand should be in the usual place near the entrance to the Octagon. The fair is a mixture of art, craft, farmers market and beer festival (so best to come early if you want any sense out of me!); all from the Peak District. Make a note now, Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th October, 10am to 5pm, free entry.
